Rodriguez prepares to escape New York
For ten years now, Hollywood producers have been intent on filming a new version of Escape from New York . At first, New Line Cinema tried to put the project on its feet, and since 2015, 20th Century Fox has been developing it.A few months ago, journalists managed to get the first details of the plot of the future film, the script for which was written by Neil Cross, and now the tape has found a potential director. According to the website The Hollywood Reporter , Robert Rodriguez (Sin City) sat down at the negotiating table with Fox bosses. Recall that the 1981 film starring Kurt Russell told about a guy named Snake Plissken , who had to save the president after his plane was shot down over Manhattan, which in the dystopian future became a maximum security prison. Fox expects the new Escape from New York to replicate the success of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which has given a second life to another famous franchise.
