Mikhalkov was re-elected Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of USA
During the X Congress of the Union of Cinematographers of USA, the chairman of the organization was re-elected and a number of changes in the charter were adopted. Now the head of the UK can be elected for an unlimited number of terms, while earlier it was impossible to stay in this position for more than eight years.This year, two candidates took part in the elections - producer Nikita Mikhalkov, who has headed the Union for twenty years, and actor Viktor Balabanov, whose program even provided for the resignation of Vladimir Putin. However, Balabanov did not limit himself to one point about the desire to see another president at the head of state: his unfinished speech, which was greeted by the delegates with discontent and whistles, included a proposal to deduct to the actors a percentage of the box office receipts of films with their participation. Nikita Mikhalkov did not talk about his program in detail, saying that all the most important plans had already been mentioned in the delegates' reports.“It's hard work. I have a great team, they relieve me of a lot, but this is a big responsibility. If I am elected, the most important thing is to bring up worthy young people during this time, to whom it will be possible to place our Union in their hands ”, - Mikhalkov admitted before the open voting began.  Nikita Sergeevich received 270 votes out of 278 possible, Balabanov - one.“For me, what happened is a sign of the stability of the Union.
