Professionals will manage the Filmmakers Union
The new chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of the USA Federation Nikita Mikhalkov is going to transfer the affairs of the organization headed by him to the management company, which will be determined as a result of the competition. According to Mikhalkov, the solution of legal and economic problems “should be dealt with by professionals.” The Union of Cinematographers itself will not be transformed into a trade union organization. However, its new charter has yet to be discussed, since the necessary quorum was not gathered to approve the draft charter on the second day of the extraordinary congress.
