Hollywood has been trying to revive the Halloween franchise for several years. The shooting of the next part of the cult film series was supposed to begin in the summer of 2015, but they were prevented by the fact that the agreement between Dimension Films and Miramax had expired. The latter found a new partner last year in the person of Blumhouse Productions, known for its successful low-budget horror films. The fans of the franchise are also encouraged by the fact that one of the producers of the future film will be John Carpenter, and the director is David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express: Sitting, Smoking), who joined the project in February.|
Blumhouse management has prepared another great news for moviegoers: on its Twitter, the company announced not only the date of the premiere of the new "Halloween", but also that Jamie Lee Curtis will return to the role of Laurie Strode, the sister of maniac Michael Myers.
At one time, the role of Laurie from the original "Halloween" became for the actress her debut in a feature film. Heroine Lee Curtis is a classic example of the last surviving girl in horror. She appeared in the first two parts of "Halloween", after which she left the franchise. Subsequently, the heroine returned in the film "Halloween: Twenty Years Later", and in "Resurrection from the Dead" she was killed. It is not yet clear how the creators of the next part want to revive Lori on the screens, but they will probably ignore the events of individual films. According to some sources, the new tape may be a sequel to "Halloween 2" 1981.
The premiere of the new "Halloween" is scheduled for October 19, 2018.
