WB looks to the future

Image Birds of Prey is a box office flop, Batman is on hold and the second Wonder Woman premiere may be postponed. It looks like Warner Bros. does not despair and prefers to think about the future. In the near future, the major will treat the audience mainly with sequels, and so far Black Adam is the only new DC hero who will arrive on the big screens with his own solo album. But insiders reported interesting information: WB is looking for an actress to play Poison Ivy.

Most often, the name of the heroine is associated with Batman, but the upcoming solo album of the Dark Knight is not included in the DC cinematic universe, and therefore it is unclear how the WB bosses generally want to present the character and whether there will be a place for Matt Reeves in Gotham.

According to rumors, the main contender for the role of Poison Ivy is now Ace Gonzalez. The actress broke away from the world of telenovelas and was remembered by the mass audience thanks to the TV series "From Dusk Till Dawn". After Ace, she added a number of popular films to her track record, from the blockbusters "Alita: Battle Angel" and "Fast and the Furious: Hobbs and Show" to the drama "Baby Drive". Curiously, Gonzalez auditioned for the role of Catwoman, but Zoe Kravitz was ahead of her. Perhaps the WB management remained under the impression of Aisa and found a more suitable image for her.

In the fictional films, Poison Ivy appeared only once: in "Batman and Robin" the villainess was played by Uma Thurman. Unfortunately, the film itself is not an example of quality cinema. Critics smashed him to smithereens, and Thurman was even nominated for a Golden Raspberry.
