Wonder Woman looks to the future
Following the breakup of the Justice League and a weak performance by Birds of Prey at Warner Bros. there are not many comic book characters left who can bring guaranteed profit at the box office. Unsurprisingly, the company relies on time-tested brands. At the beginning of last year, WB took over the Aquaman spin-off, and today Wonder Woman has followed suit.Series director Patty Jenkins spoke about plans to create the third part of the franchise and a separate film about the inhabitants of the island of Temiskira. “I came up with a four-picture story arc: the Diana trilogy and the Amazon spin-off, Jenkins said. -Jeff Jones and I have already completed the script application and sold it to the studio. I think that the spin-off will be filmed by someone else, and I will limit myself to the producer's post”. The WB will probably delay the official announcements of the spin-off and triquel until the premiere of Wonder Woman 1984 to assess the future prospects of the franchise in the post-coronavirus era.
