Rooney Mara will be one of Del Toro's nightmares
Earlier there were rumors that Rooney Mara would play Guillermo del Toro in Nightmare Alley, but now this information has been confirmed: the star of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has officially signed on to one of the key roles in the adaptation of William Lindsay Gresham's novel. Guillermo wrote the script for the project with co-authorship with Kim Morgan, and oversees the production of the tape by TSG Entertainment and Fox Searchlight.Celebrities such as Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette and Ron Perlman also agreed to take part in the filming, while Michael Shannon and Richard Jenkins, who starred in the Oscar-winning "Form of Water", are still in negotiations. Bradley Cooper will star in Nightmare Alley. He will reincarnate as Stan Carlisle - a fraudster working in a circus who will team up with his beloved, and part-time psychiatrist (Rooney Mara will play her) in order to more productively lure money from the gullible public. Gresham's novel of the same name was released in 1946 and has already been filmed once. It is reported that the del Toro variant will be much closer to the original source and will delight us with a gloomy atmosphere and an R rating.  Rooney Mara could be seen on the big screen last year in the drama Mary Magdalene directed by Garth Davis, and in 2015 she starred with the aforementioned Cate Blanchett in the critically acclaimed film Carol.
