Old Spy Rangers
While Marvel Studios and Sony are thinking how to lure John Watts ("Spider-Man: Far From Home") into their networks, the director decided to take a break from the world of big movies and blockbusters, using his talent for the benefit of television. Watts will lead the filming of the pilot for the spy thriller The Old Man, and will also executive produce the series.The main role in the project is given to Jeff Bridges, and now he is joined by two-time Oscar nominee and winner of six Emmy awards John Lithgow. The show, based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Perry, will tell about ex-agent Dan Chase, who managed to escape from the CIA many years ago. Since then, he has been on the run, and when a mercenary came for Chase, the old operative had to recall his former skills. Now Chase needs to face the past, and it won't be long in coming as the FBI will turn to its former employee, Harold Harper, played by Lithgow, and he has his own account with Chase. The FX series is scripted by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine and produced by Dan Schottz. All three have already worked together on Black Sails.
