On November 7, Dmitry Medvedev signed a government decree on financial assistance or rebates for foreign film companies that wish to shoot feature, documentary or animation films in the USA Federation. Subsidies will be transferred from the federal budget to the accounts of USA studios, with which foreign companies will enter into a partnership agreement.Filmmakers will be able to spend the monetary aid on hotels for actors and film crew, rental of transport and necessary special equipment, decorations, sewing costumes and much more related to the production of the film. To receive a rebate, there are a number of conditions, the main one of which is the minimum shooting budget: at least 15 million rubles will have to be spent on a full-length film, at least five million on a cartoon, and 3.75 million rubles on documentary films. In addition, the latter has a minimum time limit of 52 minutes. Applicants for a subsidy will pass a special test, during which they will be able to score up to 41 points (the minimum threshold for passing is 17 points).
