Miles Teller will fight the elements
Hollywood is making a second attempt to film the bestselling novel Not Without Hope by Nick Schuler and Jere Logman. This time the project is curated by Why Not You studio, American football star Russell Wilson and singer Ciara. The book was published in 2010 and told about the tragic incident that happened to Shuler during a storm in the Gulf of Mexico.On February 28, 2009, Nick and his old sports buddy Will Blickley went fishing with two NFL players, Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith. Sharpie steered the yacht to a proven bite spot 80 kilometers off the coast of Florida. In the midst of fishing, a violent storm arose. Friends decided to return to the port, but could not raise the jammed anchor. A moment later, the yacht capsized, and the fishermen fell into the icy water. Nick became the only one who survived the arrival of the rescuers: he was discovered two days after the start of the thunderstorm. The bodies of Blickley, Cooper and Smith have never been found. The adaptation of "Not Without Hope" could see the light of day back in 2013. Dwayne Johnson was preparing for the title role, but Relativity Media was unable to get the film into production. Now the rights to the project have passed to Why Not You, which entrusted the image of Sharpie to BAFTA nominee Miles Teller ("Obsession").  The film will be directed by Rupert Wainwright (Stigmata).
