BAFTA - 2020: Winners
The Oscars are still a week away, and the British have already decided on the names of those who have earned recognition for outstanding achievements in the field of cinema last year. The 73rd BAFTA Awards took place at the Royal Albert Hall of Arts and Sciences in London. Comedian Graham Norton was the host of the event.The main contender for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts prizes, judging by the number of nominations, was "Joker" with 11 references, but the drama managed to win only in three categories. But the picture "1917" sold out in earnest on its native British soil and took home seven out of nine possible golden masks at once. Now Sam Mendes' tape can be considered with full confidence the main favorite of the Oscar ceremony. In addition to the main prizes, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts also presented special prizes: actor and director Andy Serkis and producer Kathleen Kennedy.
