The Guilty Remake has a director
At the end of 2018, we reported that Jake Gyllenhaal had signed on for the lead role in the English-language remake of the acclaimed Danish thriller Guilty. Today it became known that the director's chair of the film will be taken by Antoine Fukua, who is familiar with the actor from the sports drama "Lefty".The Guilty One premiered in January 2018 at the Sundance Film Show. The film won several festival awards, earned 97% freshness on Rotten Tomatoes, and was nominated for an Oscar, but to the surprise of critics, was left behind in the final five for Best Foreign Language Film. The idea for the thriller came to director Gustav Meller while watching a YouTube video in which a kidnapping victim was talking to a 911 operator so as not to arouse suspicion from the nearby kidnapper. The main character of "Guilty" was policeman Asger Holm, who is preparing for a hearing in the case of the illegal use of firearms. During the investigation, the protagonist is transferred to the call center of the rescue service. One day, Asger receives a call from a woman who was kidnapped by her ex-husband ...  The American remake was written by Nick Pizzolatto ("True Detective", "Murder"). The filming of the chamber drama will take place in one location this November.
