Liters of blood, creepy dreams and Bill Skarsgard in the black tent
Two years ago, Andres Muschetti's film "It" made a lot of noise, grossing $ 700 million with a budget of 30. His last line is "Fear ...". The guys at the Losers' Club made the creature taste these emotions for the first time when they brutally returned it to hiding. Pennywise is shocked, puzzled and surprised, they say, what is it? ". Andres Muschetti: “Now Pennywise has come with a very specific and focused desire to take revenge on the Losers. Compared to the first film, he has taken a step forward, now he is more skillful in manipulation and more thoughtfulness in his actions. ”  About blood on the set: Bill Hader:“There was a lot of dirt ... At the end of each day you have a lot of bullshit: dirt, blood, sweat, etc. And to wash this whole thing, make-up artists applied cream to your hands, feet and head for shaving. Such, you know, a cream of the old model, which contains all kinds of chemistry that cleans better than anything else. It was a wonderful end to the day. ”. About the turning points in the plot: Andres Muschetti:“We were unable to include some scenes in the first film for a number of reasons. I'm not going to tell you exactly which ones, I want to keep it a secret, but I will say that there is an event that was very significant for me as a director. It refers to the children's part of the story. It's a memory that everyone recalls, and the reason why we didn't include this in the first movie is because there are events that they have forgotten or suppressed or pushed aside. Our story is about trauma, mostly ". About working with Bill Skarsgard: Andres Muschetti: “Bill goes to extremes all the time. He did it then, he did it now. When working with older actors, the method and direction are different, but this time I made the decision to separate the kids and Pennywise. Do not push them against each other to try to catch this first impression, this first reaction. And even though it was different this time, the children were still terrified by Bill.  Bill is not a method actor, but when he accelerates he generates such a creepy silence on the set, which becomes scary. On set, he lives in a small black tent (don't ask) and warms up his voice with a clown laugh! When the crew heard this, everyone shut up immediately. "James McAvoy:“He's amazing. The guy who plays the clown is really terrifying. Actually, Bill is cute, but on the set he almost drove me crazy. I remember standing with other actors, looking at each other and as if saying to each other: `` I don't like being here. I don't want to be an actor today "". About playing an evil clown: Bill Skarsgard:“It's different now. The first time, no one knew what I would do with this role. I didn't know if the image would work, how people would react. All in all, there was a lot of concern. On the other hand, the first time was cool because I was just doing my job and no one knew what to expect and couldn't point out how I should work with the role. Then I said to myself: “I need to distance myself from the image created by Tim Currie and come up with my own distinctive features.” Now everything is very strange. The film has become a phenomenon, and my character is iconic. Pennywise became a star. Do you see Instagram posts of people dressing up or dressing up their kids for Halloween like Pennywise? There I began to have very strange and vivid dreams in which Pennywise came to me every night. Horror. One day I was sitting with my mother over a cup of coffee in our kitchen, and suddenly it dawned on me: `` Oh my God, I don't have to deal with this character anymore! '' And I suddenly felt better: “I’m so glad I don’t have to poke around in the dark essence of Pennywise anymore.” I compared this moment to an act of exorcism: it leaves my body and relieves me of the toxins of the evil clown. I'm fine now. ” James McAvoy:When, as an adult, I reread It for filming, I started having nightmares involving Pennywise, which I hadn't experienced as a child. ”One might assume that nightmares are associated with the eerie appearance that Bill Skarsgard's Pennywise has, but McAvoy's explanation makes it clear that his bad dreams refer to something deeper and darker than the image of a clown:“He writes about a small American town, he writes about death, aging and growing up. Stephen even tweeted his reaction, about two months ago, before the movie was finished. He really enjoyed the painting. In general, I grew up on his books. When I was 14, I first read It, so my idea of how to tell stories is very much related to his work. One thing that I learned from his books and that sunk into my soul is that you have to take care of your characters.
