Stephen King praises the new adaptation of It

Image The famous novel Stephen King "It" was filmed only once - in 1990 in the format of a mini-series of not the best quality. Nevertheless, the adaptation gave moviegoers the image of the clown Pennywise in the brilliant performance of Tim Curry, who will be remembered by the children of that time for a lifetime. Finally, this year, the book will receive a full-length film adaptation, at the helm of which is the creator of the horror film "Mama" Andres Muschetti.

As Carey Fukunaga stepped down as director of the film due to disagreements with the studio, there were many concerns that Muschetti , with little experience in creating large projects, simply could not handle the burden of responsibility. Despite statements by the project's producer Dan Lin that " It " will pick up the atmosphere of last year's beloved hit "Mysterious Events", fans of the printed original were waiting for the comments of the King of Horrors himself.

To their delight, after watching a working version of the film, Stephen King reassured fans by stating:“ It ” from Andres Muschetti contrary to my expectations it turned out very high quality. You just have to relax, wait for the premiere and just enjoy the movie ”. Well, such a restrained but unambiguous assessment of the film makes us hope that at least it will not follow in the footsteps of Ghostbusters.

The release of the film in USA, as well as throughout the world, is scheduled for September 7 . The screenwriters are Gary Doberman, Chase Palmer and Fukunaga , while the new Pennywise will be portrayed by Bill Skarsgard.
