Myst Universe Coming
Despite the relentless efforts of Hollywood producers to adapt computer games for large screens, few have succeeded in presenting a product that is digestible for moviegoers. However, the failures of their predecessors only spur other companies in an effort to create a film adaptation that would be financially successful and at the same time liked by the audience.Village Roadshow Entertainment Group believes it has found its goldmine in the mesmerizing world of the adventure adventure Myst, first released in 1993. All previous attempts to adapt the game have failed: neither the full-length feature film nor the series, which the online service hulu wanted to host a few years ago, did not appear on the screens. The new owners of the rights to film adaptation of Myst decided to go even further - their plans immediately include the creation of a multi-platform universe, including a full-length film and television content. While the details of these projects are unknown, an official press release states that the Village Roadshow plans to expand on the mythology of the original. The plot of the game, we recall, revolves around a researcher named Atrus, who has the ability to write portal books. The player tries on the image of the Wanderer, who, solving complex puzzles, moves through the worlds from the books of Atrus.  Until 2002, Myst was considered the best-selling game in the world, and today the number of sold copies has exceeded 15 million.
