Myst adaptation found a screenwriter

Image For many years Hollywood has been trying to film the computer game Myst. First, it was about filming a full-length film, and then a series for the Hulu service. Last summer, the rights to adapt Myst went to Village Roadshow, which began building a massive multi-platform universe. Today it became known that the launch of the franchise will take place on TV.

The basis of the screen universe of Myst will lay the series from the author of the blockbusters "Thor" and "X-Men: First Class" Ashley Miller. The screenwriter is already familiar with working on television: his filmography includes such famous sci-fi series as Andromeda, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Beyond the Boundary. Miller will write the pilot episode and take over as showrunner for the first season.

Unfortunately, the details of the series are kept secret. Earlier it was reported that Village Roadshow wants to expand the mythology of the original games and come up with new stories about the fascinating world of Myst.

The first part of the adventure quest was released in 1993. Myst was the best-selling game series in the world until 2002, when it was bypassed by the life simulator The Sims.
