Last fall, we announced the start of work on a series about Pakistani physicist Abdul Khan, who violated the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. Ten10 Films and Le Boxeur Films are preparing their response to Submarine's intriguing TV project, which will tell the same story but on behalf of a different scientist. In the center of the plot will be the Dutchman Frits Weerman, who worked with Hahn at the URENCO laboratory in Amsterdam. In the early 70s, scientists conducted secret research to enrich uranium. Over time, Veerman began to suspect that Abdul was dishonest. Frits appealed to the authorities, but they did not listen to him. As a result, Khan left Holland with copies of the most important blueprints that helped launch Pakistan's nuclear program. Subsequently, it became known that Abdul also sold information to Iran and North Korea. As for Veerman, he was deprived of his job and forced to sign a lengthy non-disclosure agreement. The story of the Dutch physicist will be told in the format of a mini-series called "The Man Who Stole the Bomb". Story: Deadline The Topic of Article: In pursuit of a nuclear bomb. |
