The adaptation of Metro 2033
In March 2016, Dmitry Glukhovsky announced that the rights to film adaptation of his cult novel Metro 2033 were bought by MGM. The project was shown to various producers and directors, including Frank Darabont and Michael DeLuca, but last year the news came from Hollywood that there would be no film adaptation: the studio could not figure out how to adapt the plot to American realities. It seemed that the case died out forever: new copyright holders were not announced, and Glukhovsky focused on the film adaptation of his other novel - "Text". Apparently, the writer was preparing a surprise for his fans: today a post appeared on his instagram with the date of the premiere of Metro 2033 in cinemas.So far, there is little information. It is known that TV-3 and TNT Premier, as well as Central Partnership and VK, are responsible for the shooting. Evgeny Nikishov and Valery Fedorovich, known from the TV series "Policeman from Rublyovka", "Chernobyl: Exclusion Zone" and "Mine", are responsible for transferring the original to the screen. The cast of the film has not yet been announced, but this does not prevent fans from placing bets in disputes about what role in the project will go to the star of USA cinema and TV Alexander Petrov.
