Special Effects Masters immortalize Disney, Kubrick and Lee
In 1997, a small group of special effects experts formed their own film organization, the Visual Effects Society (VES). Today, its ranks include more than four thousand people from forty countries of the world. In 2003, the organization began to celebrate the outstanding achievements of experts in the field of practical effects and computer graphics. Today it became known that the 18th Society Awards will be preceded by a special event dedicated to the induction of three outstanding artists - Walt Disney, Stanley Kubrick and Stan Lee into the VES Hall of Fame.“VES Hall of Famers are outstanding artists, innovators and professionals who have made a huge difference in the development of our industry,, said Mike Chambers, Chairman of the Board of the Visual Effects Society. -We are proud to be able to honor the people whose legacy continues to inspire new generations of special effects experts. ”  American animation pioneer Walt Disney has won a record 26 Academy Awards. Four of them went to the creator of the Disney Corporation for special services to the film industry. Stanley Kubrick is widely regarded as one of the greatest directors in Hollywood, whose films were often ahead of their time. Suffice it to recall at least the epic "2001: A Space Odyssey", the revolutionary special effects of which brought the director an Oscar. Modern film critics believe that without the cult film of 1968 there would have been no Star Wars, no Third Degree Close Encounters, no Alien, no Interstellar, or many other space-themed films. As for Stan Lee, thanks to the legendary comic book author, the world has received the highest grossing franchise in history - the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The superhero genre has played a major role in the development of special effects:  Disney, Kubrick and Lee will be posthumously inducted into the VES Hall of Fame this October.
