The Visual Effects Society has announced the winners of its 2014 awards. The leader in the number of awards was the movie "Planet of the Apes: Revolution", which won three victories, including in the category "best special effects in a feature movie based on special effects.

His rivals were such movies as "Guardians of the Galaxy", "Interstellar", "Maleficent", "The Hobbit 3: The Battle of the Five Armies" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past". The movie also received the Community Prize for Outstanding Animated Feature in a Feature Film. Professionals noted the level of creating the image of Caesar.

In the category "the best animation in a full-length animation project" the winner was the cartoon "City of Heroes". Also nominated for the award were animation projects How to Train Your Dragon 2, Rio 2, Family of Monsters and Lego Movie. One of the main characters of the "City of Heroes" - the robot Baymax won in the category "best animated character in a full-length animated movie".

The award was given to the creators of the shooter Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare in the category "Best Special Effects in a Video Game"

This is the thirteenth time the Special Effects Society Awards have been presented.
