Clint Eastwood found a new hero?
Deadline has learned that Clint Eastwood is planning to lead the as-yet-untitled Richard Jewell film. The main roles in the biopic went to John Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio.The script for the film, written by Billy Ray (Captain Phillips), is based on an article from Vanity Fair The Ballad of Richard Jewell by Marie Brenner. DiCaprio , Hill , Jennifer Davisson Killoran and Kevin Misher will be producing production. Richard Jewell ( Hill ) became a hero after he discovered a backpack with explosives during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Despite the fact that the guard helped to get people out of the place of the bomb explosion, minimizing the number of victims, it was him who was accused by the FBI of terrorism. Three months later, Richard was acquitted. DiCaprio will play in the film the lawyer who helped Jewell get through this nightmare and attacks from journalists, accompanying him after the accusations.  The script for Billy Ray at one time caught the attention of a couple of eminent directors: Paul Greengrass and David O. Russell planned to lead the shooting. Hill and DiCaprio joined the project immediately after collaborating on The Wolf of Wall Street, for which both actors were nominated for Oscars .
