Congratulations to Ekaterina Vasilyeva!
Today the brilliant Soviet and USA theater and film actress, People's Artist of the RSFSR Ekaterina Vasilieva is celebrating her anniversary. She was born in 1945 into a creative family: her father was a famous poet, and her mother was the great-niece of the famous teacher Anton Makarenko. Since childhood, the girl dreamed of being an actress.She got her first role in the movie Vasilyeva in 1965, in the film " On Tomorrow's Street ", when she was still a student at VGIK. After graduation, she combined filming with work in the theater, first at Sovremennik, and then at the Moscow Art Theater. Glory to the actress came thanks to the films " Taimyr is calling you " (1970), " Straw hat " (1974), " Bumbarash " (1971) ... The best pictures with her participation are rightfully considered “ Twenty Days Without War ” (1977) by Alexey German, “ An Ordinary Miracle ” (1978) by Mark Zakharov based on the play by Yevgeny Schwartz and an amazing musical fairy tale " Sorcerers " (1982) based on a script by the Strugatsky brothers.  In 1989, Vasilieva played a rich woman Clara who returned to her homeland in the film A Lady's Visit , and a little earlier, in 1983, she appeared in stories about troubled teenagers called " Boys ". Older viewers probably know her by her role as Mrs. Elzbieta from the popular Soviet-era humorous program " Zucchini 13 chairs ", and those who are younger - in the image of the Queen Mother Catherine de Medici in the historical melodramas " Queen Margot " and " Countess de Monsoreau " based on the works of Alexandre Dumas. Among her other works are roles in the films " Come and see me " and " Anna Karenina ".  Currently, Ekaterina Vasilyeva continues to play in films and TV shows, creating vivid, memorable images.
