In Moscow, at the age of 101, theater and cinema artist Vladimir Zeldin died. At the time of this sad event, he was considered the oldest acting actor on the planet and the first theater actor who managed to celebrate his 100th anniversary.

Vladimir Mikhailovich Zeldin was born in the city of Michurinsk, Tambov province in 1915, after the end of the Civil War, in 1924, the Zeldin family moved to Moscow. The future famous artist began his career at a factory where he worked as a mechanic. In 1935 he graduated from the theater workshops at the MGSPS Theater and began serving at the Transport Theater, where he played many roles in various productions. The role of Musaib made Vladimir Zeldin a favorite of millions of Soviet viewers with lightning speed. From 1945 until his death, Vladimir Zeldin served in the Central Theater of the Soviet Army.

The artist starred in such movies as "Uncle Vanya", "The Taming of the Shrew", "Dance Teacher", "Duenna", "Ten Little Indians" and many others.

Vladimir Zeldin was awarded the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR, People's Artist of the USSR, was a laureate of many prizes and awards.
