Thunder Road Pictures has embarked on an as-yet-untitled film based on an article by Alan Foyer The Rise and Fall of the Largest Marijuana Dealer in New York History b>”, published in The New York Times last September.As reported by The Tracking Board , producers Basil Ivanik and Todd Hoffman have already begun their search for a screenwriter who will focus on films such as The Nice Guys, The American Scam and The Wolf from Wall Street ". In January 2007, a young woman with a baby in her arms appeared at the doorstep of the New York Department of the Drug Enforcement Administration . In a conversation with agents, she said that her ex-boyfriend and part-time father of the baby is selling drugs. The DEA representatives did not yet know that a targeting of a small drug dealer would be the beginning of a seven-year investigation, which would reveal the largest network of marijuana distribution in the city's history. The leader of the cartel turned out to be a French-Canadian Jimmy Cournoyer , who organized a scheme to transport drugs from Canada to the United States through Indian reservations.  Already a couple of years later, Jimmy became the happy owner of Porsche Cayenne and Bugatti Veyron cars, had an affair with a lingerie model and made acquaintances with famous athletes and actors. The tale ended last year when he was put behind bars for 27 years. The studio's track record of Thunder Road Pictures includes the films City of Thieves and John Wick, and next week USA viewers will be able to appreciate its new project - The Murderer, directed by Denis Villeneuve.
