How to live in retirement. Trailer ”Drug Courier”

Image What if you are a lonely, useless old man who, not only has lived a worthless life, but also barely makes ends meet? Clint Eastwood will tell us exactly how not to act in his new film "Drug Courier". The four-time Oscar winner filmed a crime drama based on a script by Nick Schenk (Barygi) and played the main role in it himself. The 88-year-old Hollywood star was accompanied by Bradley Cooper.

In the center of the plot is the unfortunate old man Earl Stone, who spent his whole life at work, not paying due attention to his family. Now he has to deal with the consequences of this approach: the children do not want to see him, his wife has long become a stranger, and his business is on the verge of ruin. In order to somehow improve his affairs, Earl gets a job as a driver. True, he soon realizes that his employer is directly related to a drug cartel, and in the trunk of his car, grandpa now carries not only pecans, but also large bags with some suspicious powder ...

The script was based on the article "The 90-Year-Old Sinaloa Cartel Drug Courier" published in the New York Times in the summer of 2014. It told about Leo Sharpe, a veteran of the Second World War and a successful flower grower, who, over several years, successfully delivered tons of cocaine to different cities in America. The Drug Enforcement Administration got on Sharpe's trail with a wiretap. At the time of the arrest, 100 kg of powder were found in Leo's car. Lawyers were able to prove that Sharpe was involved in drug trafficking solely due to the fact that he suffered from progressive senile dementia, so they sentenced the world's oldest drug courier to just three years in prison.
