Cooper will send Eastwood to jail

Image Despite the fact that this month Clint Eastwood turns 88, the legend of world cinema does not even think to retire. Earlier this year, Eastwood presented the drama "Train to Paris" to the public, and now he is ready to take on another project based on real events.

As previously reported, Eastwood plans to lead the shoot and star in The Mule ("Drug Courier" *). Now, according to the Variety portal, Eastwood has a company - his screen partner will be Bradley Cooper, with whom the director has already worked on "Sniper". The drama about the infantryman Chris Kyle, we recall, brought Bradley an Oscar nomination.

Eastwood's new film will be based on a New York Times Magazine article by Sam Dolnick about Leo Sharpe, a WWII veteran florist who became a courier for the Sinaloa cartel in his old age. The plot of the picture, however, has been corrected in comparison with the real story. The main character will be a lonely man over 80, whose business is on the verge of closing. One day Earl Stone is offered a simple job that only requires turning the steering wheel. But Earl, without realizing it, agrees to become a drug courier for the Mexican cartel, and an agent of the DEA Colin Bates sets out to chase him. Bradley Cooper is going to play the role of the latter.

Bradley is currently finishing work on his directorial debut, the musical drama A Star is Born, and recently he also agreed to play the composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein in his biopic. As for Eastwood, "Drug Courier" will be his first big screen appearance since "Spin Ball".
