Sam Raimi will find his prophet
Director Sam Raimi is in talks to lead a remake of The Prophet , a French film that is in the works for Sony . The information resource Variety writes about this.The script for the future film was written by Dennis Lehane, a popular American writer, whose books have been adapted for large screens more than once ("Isle of the Damned", "Common"). Neil H. Moritz is producing the new tape. The original film tells the story of a 19-year-old Arab boy who ends up in a French prison. He has no friends or acquaintances who are capable of at least something to help, but the guy is not lost, he quickly masters in new conditions for him and soon becomes an authority among the prisoners. The Prophet , directed by Jacques Audiar, was released in 2009. The film earned rave reviews from critics and received a Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. Also in the piggy bank of the film Audiar there is a Cannes Film Festival Grand Prix and nine Cesar awards.  For Raimi , the remake of The Prophet will be the first directorial project since the fantasy adventure Oz: The Great and Powerful, which opened in theaters in 2013. Since then, the filmmaker has been involved in production work. The director has collaborated with Sony more than once - it was Raimi who shot the original Spider-Man trilogy with Tobey Maguire in the title role.
