Syfy will travel to Frederick Paul's Gate
As it became known to journalists The Hollywood Reporter , Syfy is preparing to transfer another famous work in the genre of science fiction to the small screens. As part of the press tour of the Television Critics Association (TCA) , the channel's management announced its intention to film the novel Frederick Paul The Gateway ( Gateway).Josh Pate ( Legends ) and David Eyck ( Battlestar Galactica ) will tackle the story. Pate has already written the script for the pilot episode, and Eick will have to edit the finished text. Both authors, along with Martha de Laurentiis, Michael Rosenberg and Lorenzo De Mayo, will serve as executive producers of the new series. The novel is set in the future. People made an incredible discovery: an asteroid was found, on which many spaceships were left abandoned by the alien civilization Heechee . The inhabitants of the Earth have learned to fly starships, but have not found a way to set the coordinates of the destination. And therefore, some of those who dare to go into unknown space return with untold treasures, and someone meets inevitable death on the ship. The protagonist named Robinette Broadhead decides to put everything on the line for the sake of traveling to the so-called Gate (space station on an asteroid). And after the end of the mission, Robbie becomes a rich man, but now he has to put up with the fact that he alone survived from the entire crew ...  Paul , released in 1977, has won three prestigious science fiction awards - Hugo , Nebula and Locus . Also The Gates laid the foundation for a whole series of books called Heechee .
