Focus Features will rid us of the devil
Deadline has announced that Focus Features has acquired the rights to film the thriller novel A Head Full Of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay .The book combines elements of drama, psychological detective and modern horror.At the center of the action is a wealthy suburban New England family. However, when 14-year-old Marjorie Barrett shows the first signs of schizophrenia, family happiness comes to an end. The house of heroes turns into a real den of horrors, and parents have no choice but to resort to the help of a Catholic priest. The latter invites them to turn to the exorcist, assuring that the devil has taken possession of the girl. Lacking the financial means to pay the drug bills, the family agrees to have their daughter's story featured on a reality show. But after the tragedy at the Barrett's house, the footage captured in the TV show becomes an urban legend passed down from generation to generation.  Ben Collins and Luke Petrovski will be scripting, while Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey, as well as Daniel Dubekki's Allegiance Theater company, will be producing the project.
