Horror by the Sea
In competition with other studios, DNA Films has acquired the rights to film the film adaptation of Andrew Michael Hurley The Loney , a gothic horror novel. The portal Deadline reports about it.Hurley has already won the prestigious Costa Book Awards for Best Debut Novel and has also received rave reviews from critics. The king of horrors himself, Stephen King, noted that the book is not just good, but wonderful. The novel takes place in 1976 on the northwest coast of England. A 15-year-old boy named Tonto , along with his brother Henny , parents, a Catholic priest and a group of strange people make the annual pilgrimage to the shrine. Not the best place for a family vacation, but the father and mother of the protagonist believe that their journey will help Henny recover from the muteness. Local places hide many secrets: last year a priest mysteriously died, and a married couple lives in a house near the bay, raising a pregnant teenage girl in a wheelchair ...  The novel, according to the assurances of journalists and critics, is excellent for film adaptation, especially since DNA Films has experience in producing horror films, including Danny Boyle's film "28 Days Later" and its sequel "28 Weeks Later" ...
