Casting: Pink Ranger and Boston Marathon runner
As it became known to the publication The Hollywood Reporter , the cast of the new “ Power Rangers ” had its first replenishment - one of the roles was given to Naomi Scott (“Terra Nova "/ Terra Nova ).Written by Ashley Miller and Zach Stentz (X-Men: First Class), Dean Israelite (Continuum) will direct the film and will be produced by Hayme Saban, Brian Casentini and Allison Shirmour. The speech in the new film will focus on a group of teenagers called upon to use their own superpowers to save all of humanity. Naomi Scott got the role of Pink Ranger named Kimberly .  According to the character description, 17-year-old Kimberly used to be one of the coolest girls in the school. But when she returns to school after a six-month absence, she realizes that the situation has changed. Rumors spread at the speed of light, and although Kimberly tries to ignore them, a terrible secret still gnaws at her.  Tatiana Maslani ( Orphan Black ) is in talks to join Jake Gyllenhaal on the set of Stronger , directed by David Gordon Green ("Pineapple Express: Sitting, Smoking"). The film about the tragic events of the Boston Marathon will focus on Jeff Bauman. When the explosion thundered, the guy was near the finish line, waiting for his girlfriend. Jeff survived, but lost both legs. Gyllenhaal will play Bauman himself, and Maslani claims to be his girlfriend. John Pollono was responsible for the adaptation of Bauman's memoirs.  Finally, Tim Robbins (The Shawshank Redemption) was cast in the sci-fi drama Marjorie Prime . The film will be a screen version of a play by Jordan Harrison, nominated for this year's Pulitzer Prize . The main character is the 85-year-old violinist Marjorie , whose memory over the years becomes to nothing. With the help of modern technologies, a woman decides to recreate the images of her loved ones in the form of holograms in order to spend the last days of her life in the company of her daughter, son-in-law and deceased husband. The cast of the film already includes John Hamm, Gina Davis and Louis Smith, and the director's chair of the project is occupied by Michael Almereida ("Cymbeline").
