Katherine Bigelow will riot in Detroit
The Oscar-winning duo of director Catherine Bigelow and screenwriter Mark Boal are preparing a new joint project. According to the portal Collider , it will be a drama about Detroit, which does not yet have an official name.Bigelow and Boal will also be producing the film with Megan Ellison and Matthew Badman. Filming for the new tape is expected to begin this summer. The details of the plot are still kept secret. It is only known that the project is a crime drama, which takes place in the summer of 1967, when Detroit was covered by a wave of devastating riots. The producers are preparing to present their new creation to the audience in 2017, when the events shown in the film will turn exactly 50 years old.  It is curious that for Boal the new project will be the first film not related to events in the Middle East. According to a press release, the screenwriter has been researching racism in Detroit for over a year.  Bigelow and Boal each earned an Oscar for The Hurt Locker, which was also the Academy's Best Film of 2008. The duo's next collaboration, Target Number One, earned Boal another Oscar nomination.
