Nosferatu will rise from the dead
Last summer we wrote that Studio 8 took over the development of a remake of the cult horror " Nosferatu, Symphony of Horror ". According to Variety , at the moment in Hollywood, work is in full swing on another tape based on the immortal work of Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau.BeamScreen Productions studio and director David Lee Fisher ("Dr. Caligari's Office") will present their version of the story about Nosferatu . The director admitted that he plans to treat the original as respectfully as possible. Fischer is reportedly hoping to use painted backgrounds from the silent 1922 film in a number of scenes in the remake. The image of Count Orlok in the new version of " Nosferatu " will be embodied by Doug Jones , among the most famous projects with whose participation it is worth highlighting the films "Hellboy: Hero from the Hell "," Pan's Labyrinth "," Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer "," Crimson Peak "and the TV series" Falling Skies "( Falling Skies ) and" The Strain "( The Strain).  Fischer and Jones already have experience working together. In 2005, they participated in the creation of a remake of another famous silent film, The Study of Dr. Caligari. Last time, Fischer shot the entire movie against a green screen to recreate scenes from the original as accurately as possible. As a result, the remake managed to win three prizes at the ScreamFest Film Festival. Nosferatu was supposed to be an adaptation of Dracula , but Prana Film was unable to acquire the rights to Bram Stoker's famous literary work. Murnau was forced to change the names of a number of characters and make changes to the plot. Despite the fact that the film rightfully took its place in the treasury of world cinema, Stoker's widow filed a lawsuit against its creators. Prana Film filed for bankruptcy, making Nosferatu its first and last film. The judge ordered to destroy all copies of the horror film, but by that time they had already scattered across different countries.
