Officially: Jurassic World 2 Finds a Director
Jurassic World creator Colin Trevorrow has tweeted the name of his successor as director of the sequel to last year's box office hit. As we expected, Juan Antonio Bayona will tell a new chapter in the story of the monsters of the Mesozoic era.In January, the Spaniard refused to lead the filming of the second part of "War of the Worlds Z", after which rumors circulated in Hollywood that he had opted for another franchise. Bayona hit the critics' pencil for his debut film Shelter, which earned him the title of Best Director at the Spanish National Film Awards. The second work of Juan Antonio in big cinema - the drama "The Impossible" was received no less warmly. Currently Bayona is preparing for the October release of the fantasy Monster's Voice.  Plot details for the second " Jurassic World " are still under wraps, but last spring, Trevorrow hinted that the sequel could be moved outside Nublar Island. Colin co-wrote the film with Derek Connolly, but chose to step down as director in preparation for filming Episode 9 of the Star Wars space saga.  Jurassic World 2 will premiere on June 7, 2018 . The blockbuster rivals for leadership in the box office will be Godzilla 2 and the Transformers spin-off about the Autobot Bumblebee .
