A director is being sought for the sequel to Jurassic World
A few weeks before the blockbuster " Jurassic World " premiered, Colin Trevrow announced that he would not be returning to directing the sequel. The film eventually grossed an impressive $ 1.6 billion , and in June last year Universal officially confirmed the start of work on the second part and set the date for its premiere - July 22, 2018 .So far the upcoming film has not acquired a director, but the portal Deadline has the first information about who can take the helm of the project. So, according to a source, Universal bosses are eyeing Juan Antonio Bayone . The filmmaker, by the way, just recently refused to work on the sequel to "World War Z". Rumors about the involvement of Bayona in the second Jurassic World circulated back in September, but then this information was refuted. So far, the director has not received an official offer from Universal .  Bayona made his debut in the world of big cinema with the thriller Shelter, and in 2012 his drama The Impossible was released, earning rave reviews from critics. This fall, the director will present his new project to the audience - the fantasy "Voice of the Monster" starring Liam Neeson and Felicity Jones.  The script for the sequel is being written by Colin Trevorrow in the company of Derek Connolly. Details of the plot of the future film were not disclosed, although last summer there were rumors that dinosaurs would become weapons in the hands of a certain company, and the action of the blockbuster would move from an isolated island to another place.
