Aronofsky became interested in the story of a teenage drug dealer
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter , Darren Aronofsky and Scott Franklin will be producing a film about drug dealer Richard Versche through their company Protozoa Pictures .The screenplay was written by Andy Weiss (The Intermediaries). In the center of the plot is theteenager Richard Versh , who in the mid-80s played an important role in the drug trafficking scheme in Detroit. At 14, he became an undercover informant for the FBI and UBN , assisting federal agencies in solving corruption cases in the police and city hall. Three years later, Versh was arrested for possession of eight kilograms of cocaine and then sentenced to life in prison without parole. To date, Richard has been behind bars for 26 years, the record for juvenile offenders in Michigan history. The organizers of the criminal group, in which Versh began his criminal career, have long been released.  Protozoa Pictures will be the third movie about the famous drug dealer, on which Hollywood studios are working. Last year, Universal Pictures nominated Joseph Kosinski (Oblivion) to direct The Trials of White Boy Rick, and in February, Richard announced its desire to bring Richard 's story to the big screen. b>Studio 8 .
