Twin Peaks co-author Mark Frost has announced that the premiere of the third season of the mystical thriller will be postponed from 2016 to 2017.“” Twin Peaks ”is back a quarter century later, noted Frost . -Many believe that our series was the foundation of the golden age of television. We want not only to get back on the air, but also to raise the quality bar even higher. The script is ready, filming will begin in September, and the third season will premiere on Showtime in 2017. ” Showtime executives made the decision to revive the series last October. Initially, the channel's bosses ordered nine episodes to air the third season in 2016.  This spring the fate of the project was jeopardized when David Lynch announced his retirement. A month later, all disagreements between the creator of the cult thriller and the channel's management were settled, and some time later it became known that the number of episodes in the third season had been increased to 18. Kyle McLachlan, Cheryl Lee, Dana Ashbrook and many other stars of " Twin Peaks " will return to familiar images in the sequel.
