Twin Peaks is ready to go
The official Twitter of Showtime has announced that Twin Peaks will begin filming in September for the third season of Twin Peaks . Also new details of work on the sequel to the cult mystical thriller with the journalists Deadline were shared by the president of the television network David Navins.Earlier this year, it became known that Kyle McLachlan would return to the role of agent Dale Cooper , and then Cheryl Lee and Dana Ashbrook announced their participation in the third season. Navins has only confirmed McLachlan's to be on the project so far, but noted that viewers should look forward to other original cast members appearing on Twin Peaks . The director's chair for all episodes without exception will be taken by the creator of the series - David Lynch.  A few months ago, Sherrill Lee and Sherilyn Fenn announced that the revived series will receive eighteen episodes, instead of the nine that were discussed last October. As it became known today, the original order has indeed been increased, but the exact number of episodes will become known during the editing of the third season. Lynch and " Twin Peaks " co-writer Mark Frost wrote the script for one huge movie, which will be split apart after filming.  As previously reported, the premiere of the third season of the mystical thriller may be postponed from 2016 to 2017. According to Navins , the channel bosses will be willing to wait as long as Lynch will need to complete a new chapter in the " Twin Peaks " story. At the same time, the president of Showtime did not rule out the option in which the long-awaited return of the heroes of the series to the screens could take place next year.
