At the beginning of this year, director Joe Wright presented the historical drama Dark Hours to USA audiences, in which the starring role earned the gorgeous Gary Oldman the title of Best Actor at the 90th Academy Awards. In his next film, the talented British director decided to bring the fair sex to the fore. As it became known to Variety, Wright accepted an invitation from Fox 2000 to lead work on the adaptation of A. J. Finn's psychological thriller Woman at the Window.The main character of the book is child psychologist Anna Fox. Some time ago, she went through a tragic incident, due to which she developed a fear of open spaces. Having ceased to leave the threshold of her apartment, Anna first lost her job, and then her family. She began to drown her sorrow in wine and spend whole days watching old noir detectives and spying on residents of the neighboring houses. Once, a married couple with their teenage son moves into the house opposite. The Russells look like the perfect family, but the first impression is deceiving. While spying on new neighbors, Anna notices something suspicious and begins to plunge into a web of lies and deceit ...  Finn's novel went on sale in January this year. The action-packed thriller not only deserved a flattering comparison with Hitchcock's "Courtyard Window", but has already managed to get on the list of bestsellers according to The New York Times. The adaptation of the book for the big screen will be handled by Pulitzer Prize-winning Tracey Letts (August). Producers are Scott Rudin (The Truman Show) and Eli Bush (Lady Bird).
