Han Solo May Visit Boba Fett

Image Lucasfilm spoke with Daniel Keyes Moran to use his Star Wars book, The Last One Standing, as a source for a possible Bob Fett movie, MovieWeb reported. Moran wrote it back in the mid-90s, and it instantly gained popularity among fans of the franchise. The Last One Standing tells the story of the beloved bounty hunter in the first person. In some chapters, the story is also told on behalf of Han Solo, which gives reason to talk about the return of Alden Ehrenreich as the notorious pirate in a solo project about Fett.

“A guy from Disney wrote to me a couple of times about adapting The Last One Standing for an upcoming Boba Fett movie. Lucasfilm didn’t ask permission as they have all the rights to the book, they just said they were thinking about the idea. Quite caring on their part, because they could not tell me anything at all. But after the spin-off about Han Solo failed at the box office, the likelihood of the completion of the project was in question ", - Moran commented on the situation.

Director James Mangold ("Logan") has yet to confirm or deny this information. But still, it seems logical to show on the big screen the confrontation between the space pirate and the notorious bounty hunter on behalf of the latter.

As a reminder, all Star Vyon fanfiction written after the 90s has been dropped from the official canon of the franchise. However, if The Last One Standing is adapted for the script of the film about Fett, then this work will again become canon. While this may happen, Lucasfilm is unlikely to take Moran's book as its sole source. Most likely, the writers will draw from the work details about the emotional side of Boba Fett's personality, which is still controversial for many fans of the cult film series.

If The Last One Standing does end up in a solo project about Fett, it will delight many longtime fans of the franchise. But even if the writers do not adapt the entire story, it will still serve as a great foundation for the script, and will also allow Han Solo to return to the big screens. Prior to the release of the Solo spin-off, fans of the series began to seriously worry about Ehrenreich's acting talent, thinking that he would not be able to accurately fit into the eccentric character that Harrison Ford set the bar. However, many people liked Ehrenreich's Solo, so, most likely, fans of the franchise will be happy with the return of the character they have loved over the years.

There are still many secrets surrounding the project, but Disney and Lucasfilm have argued that a Boba Fett movie is still in development despite the low spin-off fees.
