Marlen Khutsiev died

Image Tragic news came from the capital's Botkin hospital. An outstanding director and screenwriter Marlen Khutsiev passed away today at the age of 94.

Marlene Martynovich was born in Tiflis on October 4, 1925. After graduating from high school, he moved to Moscow, where he entered the directing department of VGIK. Having become a certified specialist, the young director received an invitation to work at the Odessa Film Studio. Khutsiev began his professional career in 1955 as an assistant director of the comedy "Liang".

During the filming of this tape, Marlene came up with the plot of the melodrama Spring on Zarechnaya Street. Since the script of the film required minor revision, the administration of the Odessa Film Studio attracted Khutsiev's classmate Felix Mironer to the project. Studio director Alexander Gorsky drew attention to the fact that Marlene and Felix work well together and decided to entrust their friends with the director's chair of the film.

In Khutsiev's filmography, you can also find such famous films as "I am twenty years old", "Afterword", "Still, I believe ...", "Two Fedora" and "Infinity". Over the years of his distinguished career, he managed to work at the Gorky Film Studio and Mosfilm, try himself as an actor and theater director, head the Guild of USA Film Directors, win two awards at the Berlin Film Festival, earn the title of People's Artist of the USSR and create his own workshop at VGIK. br />
