Netflix Unveils Warriors of Liberation

Image Online service Netflix will pay tribute to the American soldiers who participated in the rescue of the prisoners of the Dachau concentration camp. As it became known to the publication Deadline, the streaming giant has launched an animated series "The Liberator" based on the novel of the same name by Alex Kershaw.

In his work, a popular American journalist and writer spoke about the military exploits of Felix L. Sparks. The hero of the future animated series was born in 1917 in San Francisco. In his youth, Felix could not find work at a shipyard and decided to enroll in the American army. During World War II, Sparks rose to the rank of colonel, and eventually ended his distinguished military career with the rank of brigadier general.

During the bloodiest military conflict in human history, Sparks led the 157th Field Artillery Regiment and the 45th Infantry Division of the US Army, which took part in the Allied landings in Italy, the Battle of Anzio, the South French Operation and the Ardennes offensive. In April 1945, Felix freed more than 30,000 Dachau prisoners, but almost fell under the tribunal due to suspicion of shooting unarmed guards at the death camp. Fortunately for Sparks and his battalion, all charges against them were dropped shortly after the appointment of General George S. Patton as military governor of Bavaria.

Jeb Stewart (Die Hard, The Fugitive) will head the writing team for the four-part animated series. The Liberator will be the first project to use the new Trioscope technology. According to preliminary information, the creators of the war drama will first shoot scenes with live actors, and then use computer technology to give the picture a cartoon style. The director's chair for the intriguing TV project will be taken by Polish visual effects master Grzegorz Jonkaitys, who participated in the creation of Sin City, Star Trek, Infinity War and many other Hollywood blockbusters.
