Ben Affleck will deceive the Nazis

The picture will tell about the exploits of the eponymous special forces detachment of the US Army. In 1942, American authorities learned that British intelligence officers were conducting a series of cunning tactical maneuvers to trick their enemies in the Second Battle of El Alamein. The US government has given the go-ahead for the creation of its own military special squad, whose task was to disorient the enemy forces. The Phantom Army includes hundreds of special effects masters, decorators, actors, architects, sound engineers and engineers. The detachment arrived in Europe two weeks after the Allied troops landed in Normandy. The military unit brought with them inflatable tanks, headquarters decorations, special vehicles for transmitting false radio signals and audio recordings imitating the noise of a large crowd of people. During the Second World War, the Phantom Army carried out several dozen successful operations, during which the Germans chased fake troops and lost sight of the main forces of the rival.  The plot of the film will be based on the book "The Phantom Army of World War II" by Rick Beyer and Elizabeth Sayles. The first draft of the script was written by Henry Hayden (Shazam!), After which the text fell into the hands of Nick Pizzolatto (True Detective, Murder).
