Jamie Foxx may play Spawn
Four years ago, Jamie Foxx was heavily criticized for playing the supervillain Electro in the blockbuster The Amazing Spider-Man: High Voltage. Unsurprisingly, the Oscar winner decided to redeem himself in front of a multi-million army of comic book lovers. As it became known to That Hashtag Show, Fox was offered the lead role in the adaptation of the graphic novels about Spawn's adventures.The colorful antihero was created by Todd McFarlane in 1992. Five years later, the character went to conquer the big screens. The film adaptation of "Spawn" was dropped with an adult rating, but at the last moment its producers backtracked and re-edited the film to get the PG-13 age limit. As a result, the picture was defeated by both professional critics and loyal fans of the original comics. "Spawn" with a sin in half beat off the $ 40 million budget, but did not become the basis for a new superhero MCU. After several unsuccessful attempts to launch a sequel to the 1997 tape, McFarlane thought about rebooting the franchise. A new adaptation of the graphic novels about Spawn was announced in 2008. Since then, many popular actors from the Dream Factory, including Jamie Foxx, have been interested in the title role in the comic strip.  The script for the film was completed in February 2016, after which McFarlane signed a deal with the successful Hollywood company Blumhouse Productions. Jason Bloom's studio expects to begin filming this summer and is already looking for key actors. Rumor has it that Todd McFarlane himself nominated Jamie Foxx. At the same time, Hollywood insiders still find it difficult to say whether the Oscar-winning actor has lost interest in the project over the years that the creator of Spawn was working on the plot of the reboot.
