Spawn can get to TV

Image Todd McFarlane, the author of the Spawn comics, has been trying to bring his brainchild to the big screens for quite some time. Luck smiled at him after the Blumhouse studio agreed to finance the project, and Oscar winner Jamie Foxx signed up for the lead role. However, nothing has been heard about the reboot for a couple of years now, and in a recent interview McFarlane shed light on Spawn's future.

Filming is due to begin this year, but it looks like it won't be limited to one project. According to McFarlane, a television series could follow the feature.“We discussed this issue. People often ask why I chose a movie over a TV series. Partly due to the fact that I have never made a full-length film, and this is perhaps my only chance. I held onto the rights to the comic to become a director myself. If the film is successful, then we can always get to television ", - said McFarlane.

The reboot will be strikingly different from 1997's Spawn, at least because McFarlane is aiming for an R rating. In addition to Jamie Foxx, Jeremy Renner and Josh Gad were cast in the movie, but it is unclear whether the pandemic will affect the producers' plans. Perhaps the shooting of the new "Spawn" will again have to be postponed until better times.
