Queen Latifah to become a child psychologist

Image Queen Latifah will star in the adaptation of Kate DiCamillo's book Soaring Tiger, which became a children's bestseller in 2001. The actress and singer will also executive produce the film.

The book tells the story of a 12-year-old boy, Rob Horton. In the woods not far from his house, he finds a tiger locked in a cage, and after a while he meets Sistine Bailey, who is never shy about showing her feelings, unlike Rob, who is used to carefully hiding them. Children become friends and learn to trust each other, which helps them understand that memories, pain and tigers cannot be locked away forever. Queen Latifah will play Willie May, a wise and compassionate woman who works as a maid at a local hotel and becomes an important advisor for children.

The film will be written and directed by Rey Giaratana, who has worked on visual effects for films such as Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters, The Outlaw King and John Wick III. A possible release date for the adaptation has not yet been announced.
