Andy Serkis turns straw into gold
The Tracking Board is sharing exclusive information that Andy Serkis will produce, direct, and star in Steelskin - a new version of the classic story about Rumplestiltskin . The source also reports that Hussein Amini ("Drive") was chosen as the scriptwriter of the film.Plot details have not yet been released, but insiders believe it will resemble Snow White and the Huntsman, as Amini worked on the text for the film with Chris Hemsworth and Kristen Stewart. The famous Brothers Grimm tale tells of a miller who boasted to the king that his daughter could turn straw into gold. He, without thinking twice, locked the girl in the tower, where she had to spin gold day and night. A strange creature comes to the aid of the poor daughter of a miller, ready to help her for a certain fee. One day, the girl promises to the newly-made assistant to give her first child if he fills the whole room with gold. After a while, the dwarf returns for a debt and agrees to a deal - he will not take the child if the girl, who by that time has become a queen, guesses his name. She sends messengers in all directions, and one of them manages to find out the name of the dwarf - Rumplestiltskin . So the queen stays with her child, and the creature tears itself in half in a rage.  Rumors about the film appeared some time ago, but now Serkis and Fox have decided to breathe new life into the project. While Andy is trying his hand at directing the film "The Jungle Book: The Beginning", and later he intends to lead the filming of the film adaptation of George Orwell's novel Animal Farm .
