In pursuit of the popularity of The Walking Dead, AMC rivals are striving to acquire their own zombie shows. So, a few years ago the Syfy channel released the rather successful "Nation Z" and "Spiral", and Guillermo del Toro put "Strain" on FX. Neflix also decided to keep up and ordered ten episodes of the black zombie comedy, reports Deadline.The show will be based on Brian Ralph's graphic novel Daybreak. Aaron Eli Colet (Star Trek: Discovery, Heroes) has been nominated as showrunner and directed by Brad Peyton (Rampage). They are also responsible for the production functions. Breaking Dawn tells the story of a seventeen-year-old schoolboy named Josh, who goes in search of his missing girlfriend Sam. The action will unfold in the post-apocalyptic Glendale, California. Josh will be joined by several eccentric friends: 12-year-old pyromaniac Angelica, and former school bully Wesley, who has become a pacifist samurai. On their way, the unlucky trio will meet various groups and fight with creatures that look like zombies.
