Zoe Colletti to listen to del Toro's scary stories

Image Immediately after filming Paul Dano's directorial debut Wild Life, Zoe Colletti signed a contract for a new project. According to Collider, the promising actress has landed the lead role in the horror film Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.

The director's chair for the adaptation of Alvin Schwartz's trilogy of children's books of the same name was taken by Norwegian director Andre Ovredal (The Demon Inside). Guillermo del Toro, Sean Daniel, Elizabeth Grave and Jay Dale have taken over the production. In addition, del Toro co-wrote the screenplay with brothers Kevin and Dan Hagmen ("The Lego Movie").

According to the official description, "Scary Tales" will unfold around a group of teenagers who are sent to investigate a wave of horrific deaths in their hometown. According to insiders, Colletti will play the role of young Stella Michaels. Since childhood, she cannot accept the disappearance of her mother on Halloween night and suspects that her father knows a lot more than meets the eye. A few years later, Stella and her friends play an innocent joke on the eve of All Saints Day, which turns into a tragedy. Was it their fault, or was it the work of a vengeful ghost haunting teenagers after they begin to investigate the missing children? According to rumors, the scarecrow man and the girl, from whose face spiders crawled out, will scare the audience. Both of these characters appeared in the third part of the book trilogy.
