Del Toro tells scary stories in the dark

Image The film maker Guillermo del Toro in his Twitter shared his plans for the future with his fans: among his upcoming projects is the film " Scary stories to tell in the dark " - an adaptation of the cycle of books by Alvin Schwartz. CBS Films acquired the film rights back in 2013. The original was adapted by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Malton, and their version was later revised by John August. It is not yet known whether del Toro will start writing a script from scratch or will make edits to the versions of his predecessors. The filmmaker will also take over the production functions of the project with the assistance of Sean Daniel, Jason F. Brown and Elizabeth Grave.

Horror Stories is based on folklore and urban legends, and their plot revolves around a group of children forced to save their city from the monsters that have invaded it. The series, which consists of three books, currently sells over 7 million copies worldwide. del Toro himself is an ardent fan of the original.
